Skeletal dentures are removable dental prostheses that are used to restore damaged or lost teeth.
They are used in cases where missing teeth cannot be filled with bridges, crowns on implants. Skeletal dentures are mounted on special clamps that guarantee stability and also prevent movement of other teeth. They can also be clamp-free. Apart from the obvious aesthetic advantages, skeletal dentures also positively influence the health of our teeth.
Their biggest advantage is the limitation of the denture plate. In the case of skeletal dentures, a special method of attachment in the oral cavity allows to significantly limit the reach of the denture plate to a narrow and thin strip. In addition, skeletal dentures prevent the abrasion of residual teeth, the protrusion and movement of the adjacent teeth, and also protect against the appearance of disorders in the temporomandibular joints.
